2015
The 1st demonstration of our adapted trike to enable people with complete paraplegia to cycle using their own legs.
We develop technology to enhance rehabilitation of people with motor disabilities. In particular, our current work focus on the use of electrical stimulation to people with diseases that affect the nervous system.
Low energy electrical impulses are applied through electrodes placed over the skin.
Combination of stimulating electrodes, sensors & intelligent control algorithms.
Based on independent investigations performed with people with distinct pathological conditions.
In clinics or at home, most of protocols require long-term use to maximize benefit.
The 1st demonstration of our adapted trike to enable people with complete paraplegia to cycle using their own legs.
We took part in the 1st competition to promote the use of advanced robotic technology to improve the qualitity of life of people with disabilities, the Cybathlon 2016.
Based on evidence that other types of physical exercise assisted by electrical stimulation could provide additional benefits to the user, we built and demonstrated our 1st platform for assisted indoor rowing.
We are currently developing a new platform for assisted walking, and also generating more clinical evidence for rehabilitation using electrical stimulation.
Finding partners that will enable commercialization of developed products is one of our main priorities. We also intend to take part in Cybathlon 2020!
